Wow what a week and a half!

Escrow closed on last Thursday 7-31 and our movers arrived from MD the same morning and offloaded everything into our new home. Our real estate agent Christine is my hero and I couldn't have survived this move without her. She did way beyond the normal tasks to make things as easy as possible for Patti and I.

Speaking of Patti, her and the kids, the dog and her sister arrived last Saturday 8-2 after spending a week on the road. I was so glad to see all of them arrive safely.

Wednesday was a bad day. As Anya broke her ankle or leg right at the growth plate while she was playing on the beach. This led to a trip to the ER on Wednesday nite and after X-rays they sent us to see a pediatric orthopedic at Rady Children's Hospital. Well on Thursday we discovered that our insurance had been cancelled. Effective 7-31. I thought we had 90 days of coverage or until 8-31. I didn't realize we only had 60 days. My new insurance doesn't kick in for 90 days or until 9-6. I think we have this straightened out as I never received any paperwork or maybe it hasn't made it way to me yet because of the move. Well on Thursday we took Anya to Rady's and they explained if the break was over 2cm they would have to do one thing and if it's less than 2cm they would have to do something different. But they couldn't tell from the x-ray so she had a CT scan. On Friday we found out that the break is over 3cm. So on Monday Anya is going to Open Reduction Internal Fixation.

I spoke to the surgeon's coordinator and she said that she would go home on Monday assuming that all goes well. The following day Luke has orientation to High School. The next day Patti has a Doctor's appointment to see why here knee is hurting her so badly. Then on Thursday Anya has 7th grade orientation.

I really need to review all of the information I printed out before I left work with the kids and fill out several pages of paperwork so they can register for classes next week. Geez I hope next week is better than last week.

As for me, I haven't been feeling too well the last couple of days. I've had a terrible head ache that feels sinus related. I haven't been able to find the Costco sized packs of medicine that I know we have. Today thou, I finally slept for more than 5 hours. Although this was on the couch to keep Anya company and to make sure she didn't fall while going to the toilet in the middle of the night.

This morning I headed out for my first run from our new house. I ran down to the end of our street and up to the street above us and then down to the street below us before hitting the trail. I took the trail behind our neighborhood which is a wide fire road for the first portion before it changes to single track. The single track section is very steep and it was all I could do to hike up to the water tower. Oh well Anya's up and I got to get her something to eat. I'll come back to my run later.
