The heat affected me more pre-race than during. There's just so much concentration involved with the mile that the environmental factors seem not to matter as much as even in a 5K. Ran the first lap WAY too fast (81), second in 91, and didn't catch the third split. Don't know if it was as painful as the race two weeks ago, but it still was a pain fest. No Paula or Abdi tonight, but I did have a chance to talk a little with Benito Gonzalez, who ran an "easy" 5:15, and was set to run the 800 as well. Oy.
