We took this run out at about 8:17 pace the first mile and got down to 7:30 for the second. We made it into 2 packs somehow for the first 3 or so miles. Once we hit Hillside, right by Washington we all regrouped. My plan for today was to go 90 minutes, starting out in the back of the front pack and work my down, pace wise, from there. Since we didn't take it out that hard I felt really comfortable in the front. I led it once we turned onto Edgewater and kept dropping the pace. Once we hit Gartner I started working the hill and kept the pace steady after we got to the top. At the intersection of Julian and Gartner I almost got hit my some asshole in an SUV. That pissed me off quite a bit considering this is my 5th time almost getting hit by an idiot who doesn't look. After that I just picked the pace up to where I was before he almost hit me. I was hitting 7 lows, I think since I don't have a Garmin. Followed Gartner to Naper, then took Green Trails to Speedway and added on Carriage Hill, Once I turned onto Golfview I finally saw the team again and they were about a quarter mile ahead of me so I started working my way up to them going up the hill on Abbeywood. Caught them at the light on College and stayed with them until the 70 minute group turned off. I was running with Jason and Andy for the first stretch then I picked it back up since I found a good rhythm earlier on and wanted to keep the pace down. Once we started to go onto Parkway Jason and Andy were at 7:09 pace and I was about 15 meters ahead of them and once I heard the pace I picked it back up and was hitting high 6s to low 6s. Despite having run a race yesterday I surprisingly felt really good today. I think this long run helped boost my confidence a little bit and am ready for a building long run again!!!
