This race was great because I achieved my goals and still got to race a little. I wanted to run around 2 minutes faster than last year which I did and get in a great tempo which I did. I forgot how much uphill there was on the way back and today there was quite a bit of ocean breeze on the way back as well. I would have ran just a little harder on the front half to make up that time had I known the wind was going to pick up. I kept this very controlled and when I finished I didn't have to kick and I wasn't tired at all. That was a great sign of my fitness. Getting in a lot better shape. I think I could race a 3630 right now and have a goal to run in the 35s by the end of the year. Maybe dip under that next year. I will keep with the plan of increasing tempos pace or distance every other week and the cruise intervals. I need to incorporate more hills in my training which is very hard to do in Florida. Overall was 3rd place and was very happy. The top two were ahead by a minute or so and I ran this race with 4th place for the first half and alone the second half. Good run!!
