Notes

Mostly cloudy, cool, no wind, 54. Tempo run on Black Bridge loop. Goal was 8:15 – 8:20 pace. Decided to run the loop counterclockwise this time. Went across the footbridge and to Mexico out to Rte. 17. Bob rode his bike around me, although I was by myself most of the time. Felt tired on the warm-up mile, 1st mile split was 8:04 which felt kinda hard. Hit 2nd split just before the bridge, 8:03. Kept going past the bridge out to the usual turn around point, then came back and crossed the bridge. Third split was 8:04, felt better but it was mostly downhill. Kept going hard on the long downhill to Mike Davis’ driveway, 4th was 7:44. Starting to get tired but finished strong just past Boudreau’s at a 7:45 pace. Backed way off and felt like I was done. Could have use a GU but decided to tough it out. Kept going down Hancock but cut up towards Porter West and on to Somerset. Ran to Lincoln ave and hard up the hill to York. Starting to feel better, picked up the pace a little back to the mill. Made a little loop on to the footbridge to get to 8.5 miles. Good training run, even though legs were tired from speed work yesterday and FBB last night. Will take a rest day tomorrow before the race Saturday plus it is supposed to rain.
