Notes

Mostly cloudy, pretty warm, 34 deg. light wind. Hadn’t run since last Friday. Ran to the High School varied the way back. Roads were super icy, wet, slushy from the freezing rain and heavy rain yesterday. Couldn’t really do any kind of hills or speed work, it was enough just to stay upright. Took the usual way over, but instead of going down to Hancock I went to the end of Somerset to get to the High School. The sidewalk down to the high school was treacherous. High School parking lot was bad. Ran all the way down Hancock, then came up Somerset to Porter West, up to Kennebec, down Kennebec and back on Penobscot. Stopped at Chiasson’s old house to see if the old lady that lived there needed help walking back in to her driveway. She was ok, so we chatted for a bit and then I kept going. Went up through Stickytown, but came down Franklin until I got to Oxford Ave. Ran down that to below Steven’s Park, looped around and back up onto Penob. Took that down to Maine Ave and back over to Franklin. Then took the usual way back. Not a lot of energy on this run. It was nice weather to be out and good to get back in the saddle, but there was ice everywhere. Nanospikes probably would have been really good.

Gear: pants, orange W2B long T, water pack.
