Notes

Partly sunny, cold, very windy, 28 deg.F, wind chill in the teens. Ran by myself and did the Black Bridge Loop. Ran up to York St. past RES, down to Somerset and cut down to Hancock. Kept a moderate pace warming up, my left knee was complaining the first couple miles or so, but later it was ok. Goal was to keep the pace slightly uncomfortable and breathing steady. When I got to the bridge I ran a little ways down the snow machine trail to see how it was. It was packed but pretty loose on top from traffic. I hope it’s better at the Riverlands this weekend. Crossed the bridge and tried running negative splits without feeling like I was going all out. I was able to hold the pace up without feeling gassed. The last mile it felt like I was pushing hard to maintain pace, but it was my fastest mile. Finished pretty hard across the footbridge. Ran an easy cooldown back and forth across the bridge. Good run, almost a tempo run. Knee felt ok the second half. It’ll probably hurt later. Good day to run, wasn’t as cold as I thought it would be and the wind wasn’t ridiculous.

Gear: pants, W2B tech T, long cotton T, warm headband, gloves (shed), sunglasses, water pack.
