Notes

Plan was to run some long miles at Riverlands today, but there was snow in the forecast. Decided to go without my jacket and just a tank and long W2B tee. It was a good choice until it started snowing. The parking lot from the road to about half way in was glare ice. Headed out Homestead to the picnic area. The went up Harrington and it started snowing a little. Took Porcupine to the race singletrack out to the big intersection. I explored around the snowmobile trail that goes out to the swamp a bit looking for Bud cans but didn't see any. It was snowing steady as I headed out Fox run. I stopped at the bridge to pee and then decided against going on to Deer Path and the Bradford loop. I wasn't dressed for it. I turned around and took Fox out to the ATV road to get to Homestead. Stopped to take a video of the snow for the calendar. Snowing harder and the road was covered. Slipped and fell hard on the snow covered landing on my left fore arm and just above my left butt cheek. It hurt pretty bad but no real damage done. Had to be careful about not stepping on anything that looked like snow covered ice, so it slowed me down quite a bit. Ran around the picnic area for a bit looking for cans. Then went up the shortcut singletrack to Porcupine. It looked like lots of icy spots along the trail so really had to stick to the edges. Took it slow when I got back to the ATV and stayed way over on the edge. Circled around the edge of parking lot to stay away from the ice to get back to the car. Pretty good run but with the snow I should have worn my jacket. Really need traction now. Almost slid into the ditch trying to drive out. Super icy.

Gear: UA tights, tank, black W2B long T, head band, gloves, water pack
