Mexico Ledge

Notes

Mostly sunny, very windy, 43 deg., wind chill 32. Plan was to hike up to the Ledge. Ran the roads to Mexico, cut down by the Post Office the around the back of the building. Ran the grass over towards the Green church then across the street, up behind the church. Ran up through Mexico Rec Center and hiked the hill up to Harlow Hill road. Ran that all the way onto the trail, up the trail just past the Tee onto the Ledge trail. Started hiking. A lot packed ice, so soft some wet slippery ice. I really could've used my spikes. I was able to get around all the icy patches. Hiked all the way to the top of the Ledge. Only a couple bare sections. Super windy on top, didn't stick around. Looped around and came down off the Ledge the way I usually go up. Swung around behind the Ledge and headed down. Tried to use a lot short little steps so I wouldn't slip. Had to pick my way down and stayed on the edges of the trail most of the time. The snow off the trail was post hole city. Made it all way back to Swett Ave without falling, yay! Running at kind of a hard effort back. My asthma was flaring up so it felt harder than it probably was. Coming by the Hosmer fields the wind was so strong I had to run at a 45 degree angle. It wasn't cold though. Good training run. I could feel my lower back hiking up but there wasn't any pain. Running in the wind is pain. Warm weather coming next week though.
