Notes

Spent all day in Topsham helping Chris get his snowblower running. Supposed to have 4-8 inches of snow tonight. It started snowing on our way home. I decided to run some loops up and down the street to get an advent calendar square for bad weather run and holiday lights. Figured I would do about 3 miles to make it an honest effort. Started up to the end of the street and I heard the plow coming up the road. Turned around and headed back to the driveway to let him finish. Started again. My first time down the big hill I slipped, even though I had my trails shoes on. So I had to run where the sand and salt was every time down. It was ok going up the street but on the way down the wind was blowing the snow in my face and it was not good. After every lap, I made a mark in the snow by the driveway. On my 5th lap I noticed some round snow boulders of different sizes from the last storm. I realized I could make a snowman with them and get today's square. I decided to do one more loop. At the bottom of the hill I grabbed some branches that were on the ground and brought them back up to the mailbox. I went to the end of the street several times getting the right size snowballs. I also grabbed some long dead grass to use for hair. I built the snowman but I needed some rocks for eyes. So I went back up to the end of the street and looked around. I finally found some by the mailboxes. Put them on the snowman and it looked great. That was the most fun part of the run. Snow hard but very fine snow. Good run.
