Notes

Cloudy, warm and humid, 70 deg, dew point 57. Bob and Lisa are off to Indiana to visit Joe. I ran by myself and did hill repeats. I had planned on this run last week but didn’t have time so I ran hills at home. Ran the Honda trails to Thompson Hill road. Felt crappy on this 2 mile warm up. Hot and not much energy. Got to the first steep climb off Thompson Hill road and this is where I would run the repeats. Went up the first time pretty hard and stopped where it flattened out. Decided this wasn’t long enough so I kept going up the first rise before then next short steep climb. Cleared out the branches and rocks, then headed back down. Turned around on the pavement and headed back up at a hard pace all the way to the top of the rise. Stopped to settle my breathing and ran down again, but not all out. Repeated this 4 more times. The 5th one was tough and took a little longer for my heart rate to come down. The last one was a killer, legs were like rubber. Then I marched up and down 2 times for training on tired legs for the Riverlands and Pineland. Ran easy back to the stream before the second field and splashed my face. Stopped at the bridge to fix the sock on my left foot, it was rubbing on my little toe. My legs were really feeling the hill work. Focused on running at a steady uncomfortable pace all the way back. Picked it up a little, but not all out, on the footbridge. Walked back and forth half way across the bridge to cool down. Good training run, also good to start getting acclimated to the warmer weather.

Gear: shorts, short tech T, headband, water pack.
