Notes

Cloudy, cool and wet. It rained all morning, and raining on and off at the start. Plan was to run 10+ miles, it has been 3 weeks since my last long run. First time running here since the Halloween wind storm. Skipped the 1st section of Homestead single track and ran the main trail to the Riverlands single track. Once I got to the Harrison trail there were a lot of big pines down across the trail. Ran to the picnic table then continued on the Homestead. Lots of trees down on this trail also but most of them had been cut. Made it out to the main trail and decided to try the Ridge trail. No issues with downed trees on this trail, only one but there was already a bike trail around it. Once I got to the top I could feel the warmer air and the wind picked up a little. I decided to go down the Ledge trail, head out on the main trail and do the Bradford loop, then come back on the Deer Path. Took it easy going down the stone steps as there were lots of wet oak leaves. Stopped to pick up a lot of branches and small trees, but nothing major. When I got to the main trail I broke out a GU. The sun was coming out and it felt like it was warming up, but it didn't last long. When I got on the Bradford loop the sky was very dark. I finally saw the entrance to the Bradford Hill loop. There was a sign on a tree and the trail went between two rocks, I never would have seen it without the sign. Stopped at the entrance to the Deer Path for another GU, starting to get a little tired. The wind was blowing pretty hard and the temperature was dropping. I was pretty wet, mostly from sweat, so I decided to get moving. Ran a fairly hard, focused pace all the way out to the main trial. I had just about 10 miles and wanted to get back to the car since I was starting to get cold. Did a little loop to make it 10 and so it would be 11 back at the parking lot. Ran at a brisk pace and got back to the car right at 11 miles. Good long run. Nothing hurt, legs kinda tired. If it had been warmer, I might have done some single track on the way back, but it was a good decision not to today.
