Notes

Sunny, hot, 82 deg. F. First run since the Bruiser, needed some days off to let my legs rest up a bit. Decided to do the new powerlines loop. Started out slow, instead of going high up on the power lines I stayed on the old Hydro road then cut up onto the power lines to get around the fence. Have the sciatic type pain in my right hip again. If I step wrong on an uphill I can really feel it, sharp pain. If I stay on my toes it is ok. Felt ok on the hills. The sun was really hot though. By the time I came down off the powerlines and got to the woods before Swain road I had to stop and cool off. Ran over to the Oak street area. As I was climbing out of the gravel pit on the way to the reservoir, I started getting a sharp pain below my left knee cap. Stopped to stretch and massage it. It was better and eventually went away. Felt pretty slow going up towards the high school trail and once on that trail I stopped to cool down again. Ran down behind the high school and ran the second half of the singletrack and out to the high school. Once at Hosmer, I stopped at the Swift to splash my face and cool off. After the tennis courts, I picked up the pace and ran pretty hard all the way back to the mill. I wanted to get my heart rate up for a while. Legs felt ok. Not really liking this summer time heat in the middle of September. Good run though.
