Notes

Mostly cloudy, but sun breaking out at the end and warming up fast. 68 deg. Ran the MTB trails behind the high school. A good pace over the Hosmer to the walking paths and then up to the high school. Took the old singletrack and cut in on Rope Tow the started to work harder. Ran a fairly hard pace all the way up to the top of the old lift. Then stopped for a second to bring my heart rate down. Then kept going pretty hard. There were still some mud holes but not as bad as last time I ran it. At the end of rope tow I went down the Inroad Trail, working on trying to go faster on the downhills. I caught the end of my toe on the tip of a root and got launched. I took 5 or 6 steps and for a split second thought I could hold on but I was still going downhill and my momentum was too much. Did a baseball slide off the trail. No damage done and not too dirty. Took it easy for a bit on Fawn Tastic and then picked up the pace again. Jumped on Bull Pine going fast, and stopped at the stream to wash off my hands and splash my face. Kept going all the way to the end. Hiked fast up the steep hill and started running again. Took Take Off back and ran it hard all the way to the trail sign across Scottie's Hill. Stopped for a bit to rest and realized I needed to get back for a meeting so I took the trail out to the back of the high school and then the old railroad bed back to the front entrance. Ran pretty hard through Hosmer and out to Lincoln Ave. Went easier up past Aubuchon's and to the footbridge. Looped around the enviro-shack to make it 6.0 miles and finished hard across the footbridge. Good training run as I'm thinking about signing up for the Black Fly Race in June.
