Route 108

Notes

Sunny, a little gusty wind at times. Plan was 13 miles on Rte 108. Parked at Bretton's again and took off from there. The snow has melted back away from the road, so the shoulders were good. Still alot of snow on the ground. It took a couple of miles before I felt warmed up. Goal was to keep the pace at or below 8:45. Probably a little fast for a step back long run, but wanted to see how I would feel towards the end. Ran a ways past the Victorian Villa and turned around at the 6.75 mile mark, by some kind of farm on the right. Had a GU, no Tailwind on this run, so the pace slowed a little. My right foot was getting sore at times on the way back. Tried to adjust my stride, it would get better for awhile. Mile 11 my pace slowed some, kind of lost focus while trying to get my right foot to come around. Picked up the pace for the last 2 1/2 miles, probably a little too much. Went from easy breathing (3 in, 3 out) to more labored. Made it back to the store ok. Was glad to be done but didn't feel as bad as I did on the 16 miler a couple weeks ago. I'll have to keep the pace slower to do another 13. First time running in short sleeves this year.

Gear: shorts, short sleeve T, water pack, hat, sunglasses
