Notes

OSGR at Conant road end of Riverlands. Haven't been to one in a long time, felt good to be back with a group. Conditions were somewhat packed powder. Cold with a light wind that made the wind chill pretty cold. Felt better in the sun and in the woods. We ran the Pine Loop and new Animal trail. The ATV had been ridden by a snow machine past the start of the Pine Loop trail. Bucky, Jason, and Val had broken the singletrack earlier in the week so the footing was better than I expected but still tough running. I started out behind Billy and Val and didn't think I'd be able to keep their pace for the whole run but once we hit the first hill they slowed down. Lots of hiking hills and climbing over and around blowdowns. I felt good running, my lower back was tired a few times but ok at the end. No issues with IT band or hip flexors. Once we got back out to the ATV, Val and a group were continuing on past a big blowdown on the ATV to get to 10 miles. I went back to make it 6 miles, with Janel, Rachel, and Susan. Nice chatting with them on the way back. Felt good back at the parking lot. Good run in soft conditions. Nice day in the woods even though it was cold starting out.

Gear: Nike tights, NB tank, black W2B long tech, buff around my neck, jacket, warm headband, gloves (shed), water pack.
