Trip with Trae and Bella Richardson. Arrived at 8am, picked up packet. Warm up was 600m mile jog up to 8:30 pace with minimal stretching, hip swings, jogged 300m up to and above race pace. finished 5 min before start. Should have done more earlier.
Went out to fast from the start and HR surged immediatly to over 170. Course is flat for first 1.3 miles (out&back), then lots of uphill, to uphill gravel, turnaround at 7.1. Going up hill was challenging but held pace and worked to maintain an even effort, ran tangents effectively. Was with a group of 5-7 through mile 3.5, then just a few others to turnaround, then alone for return trip. Overall a good effort and sustained hurt at a high HR.
