Notes

Really enjoyed this run. For once, could run outside without having to fight the elements. It was 27 degrees, no freezing rain or snow, and the trail conditions were pretty clear (packed snow/ice) vs. fresh snow or super icy. I'm glad we cut back this week as I do think it was what I needed.

I haven't mentioned this earlier because it has been soooo minor, but in just about every run lately I feel a very, very slight twinge in my left hamstring (not the whole run, just in spurts). I feel like the left side is tighter in general lately and I've been trying to stretch and foam roll it all out. Whatever it is, it is definitely at the minor to non-existent stage right now, but I could see it growing into something legit when mileage ramps up and especially if I incorporate faster stuff (that is when I feel it usually--when I am opening up my stride). I found an ART person locally that I am thinking of trying...I might call her office this week and see if I can get in for some preemptive work/ advice. Sometimes my right hip/side still bothers me as well. This old hip issue (the same one that Alec was helping me with) is nothing that changes my gait or hurts much at all. Just an awareness/ niggle more than anything else and not even specific to running. Pilates even sets it off sometimes! Anyway, I think both could be connected to scar tissue build up or just general muscle tightness, and ART seems like a good thing to try before it gets worse.
