Hutton Roof, 1350 ft ascent. 30th/300. Wow, this is a brutal course. Started pretty steadily - but disaster with a heavy fall on a rocky path about 15 minutes in - scratched and bruised knee and leg. About 12 people passed me as I walked and came to my senses - gradually caught most of them (not all) later on. I survived the climb, then picked up the pace (thinking, wrongly, that Doug Love was just behind me); suffered and slowed again in the next bit; but a fast finish running v hard down the long grassy hill towards the final turn and road. Hot and thirsty .
Doug flew off, but having a rough time and I caught him just after the big climb. That climb up Farleton Knott is very, very tough - barely ran one single step, and just walking felt I needed a break! I had forgotten how tough it is. Also saw Mike from church.
W 3rd in his one, with a stitch, but happy with a £5 Pete Bland voucher!
