Notes
That's Lyth. Two minutes faster than last year - but slight course change, so seemingly identical pace in fact.
Pretty good weather (shorts + long-sleeved T shirt) and not as muddy as I expected, but Whitbarrow is always going to be quite bleak and breezy, I suppose. Started faster than last year, and consequently didn't enjoy it as much! Ran about half with Paul Tynan, until he got away from me in the last couple of miles. I did basically just plod, and walk some of the hills. Imagine if I did some training and ran with a little bit of vim and vigour! All fine but ran out of steam a bit towards the end. Pretty bad blister on my L heel is the only casualty (from Innov8 Mudclaws). Most people were wearing more trail than fell shoes. Very decent training run by my standards, and I should be proud of myself.
Emma Shawcross (second lady) just one minute behind me. I was 19th (9th last year) - winner 3 hours 23 mins.
