Legs (mainly meaning my knee and hip) felt really good. Kept trying to slow it down to an 8:50 pace because I was scared if I tried to keep an 8:30 pace that my legs would fall apart sooner than I expected them to. But in my head I told myself I could do 8:30-8:45 pace. Had to stop 3 times during mile 3 because my hair kept falling down. Annoying. Took my gel at mile 7 (I didn't like the cafe latte) and it seemed to kick in around mile 9, but it didn't last long. Legs started to fall apart around mile 10 and I kept stopping. The last three miles were miserable. I needed someone to pull me along, Just for that little bit of distance. With one mile to go I stopped a lot. And my pace slowed down. Shouldn't have stopped at all, I should have pushed through it. Oh, well. Another race, another PR!
