Notes
Wanted to do 12 or 13, and before I ran, I was mentally prepared to do that distance. However, I think I chugged my water too fast and nutritionally didn't feel great when I got to mile 3. When I started out my left leg was heavy and my hip felt locked up, which I expected. I ended up getting into the groove and it felt decent. After two miles I started trying to decided what I was going to do: attempt the 12-13, stop at 4, or do 6-8..I don't know how many times I changed my mind within 9 minutes. I know my leg could have handled 6-8 for sure; maybe even the full 12 or 13, but I was already starting to break down (and my pace was slowing), so I just told myself to keep it at an easy 4. My hip/leg didn't feel great and normal, but it didn't feel horrible, either. Not sure how it would have felt if I had to pick up the pace any - like for a tempo run. Will need to test that out and see.
