Notes
1st mile: Started out faster than I should have, and had a hard time finding my way around people, which I think is what caused me to speed up once I found a break, which was a mistake. Was nearly winded by the end.
2nd mile: Was already gasping for breath and could feel my pace slowing down. I'd catch my breath on the downhills and feel fine, but every time I got to a hill I struggled and could not keep digging.
3rd mile: By this time my breathing was labored, but my legs felt fine. I just could not get my breathing under control and with about a 1/2 mile to go I wanted to stop- just to catch my breath. I'm glad I didn't, but at the time that's all I wanted to do.
I'm happy with my time, but I feel like with that time my splits should have been better. Note to self: don't run this race next year. And start training on hills.
