Strava post: Feeling the previous races going into this. Wanted to get a symbolic sub 4:40 but 77 first lap killed my hopes of that. Also didn’t help that the announcers were making fun of people in the race and all the jokes were landing lol
Don’t miss it here, but definitely miss the people! Great to catch up with everyone every once in a while. Crazy how far the program has come over the last 10 years.
Added context: The first lap did not feel like a 77, I really thought we were running 70 seconds, so coming through and it being slow was a fun realization. Lap 2 was hard, lap 3 was a blur, but lap 4 I felt reinvigorated and was able to pick it up a bit. Would be cool if this is 5k pace in a month and a half
