hiked from big hollow rd (end) up red trail to yellow trail to base of blackhead on escarpment to check the route in for lisa's aid station at ETR, then we went up blackhead, turned right at the top and went down into the saddle, up black dome, and about halfway (?) to thomas cole when we decided the weather was looking too ominous with thunderstorms forecast for afternoon, so we headed back down. storms hit just after we got below the saddle continuing back down the red trail. not bad until after we got out but good that we didn't do thomas cole.
