Raced the Silicon Valley Turkey Trot this morning. My goal was to run under 45, which would be a new PR, though my 10k PR is pretty soft. I planned to run the first mile at 7:20 pace, then settle into 7:15s for the rest of the race.
The first 3 miles felt good, pretty much like a tempo run. 4th was OK, 5th was tough, and 6th was OK again. I picked it up to sub-7 for the 6th mile and finished strong. PRed in 44:38.
While I made my time goal, I'm a little disappointed as I was kind of hoping to run faster given how much I've been running lately. I felt I ran pretty hard and didn't hold back too much.
