Notes

My first ultra. Felt unbelievably good afterwards, unlike I have after any marathon. I think the trails are much easier on your body than any road. Start was 40 and finished in 60s. The race was 3x10.3 mile loops. I went out a bit fast the first 3.5 miles but slowed a bit after that for the rest of the loop. First lap time was about 1:42. The 2nd lap was a bit slower, but felt comfortably pushed a bit about 1:49. The last lap was slower, more walking, but mostly on short uphill sections. Last lap was about 2:10. I Gu before therace, near 9 miles,then about every hour and bit after that. Balanced liquid and a bit of food intake through out. M&ms, jelly beans, potato chips, animal crackers, some coke, but only small mouthful at any onetime. Did not feel hungry or depleted at anytime. Water with me, some energy drink at stations.
