Notes
Started out at the hotel (14th and Mass) and ran down to the mall. After hitting the Wash Monument, I headed towards Lincoln before setting out for the Haines Point loop. It is still as boring as I remember but it was a nice steady clip of 8'30"s. That made me feel good. I had a big dinner last night and was feeling heavy so it was good to get a couple easy but brisk miles in. I popped out at Jefferson and then looped back around to Lincoln before getting to the Monument and heading back up to the hotel.
This did not feel like a 10 mile run. I was just relaxed and taking in the sights. The miles just clipped off one after the other.
The weather was a bit humid and I took my shirt off about mile 5. I was simply dripping. But the good news is that we have yet to get hit with rain from Hurricane Earl. So all in all as I begin to wrap up my peak mileage week, I feel like I am in a good position as I eye the home stretch towards my taper.
Legs and lungs feel good. I just want to get out of DC without gaining any weight. I need to stay conscious about my food choices.
