Perfect conditions. I got a good w/u in. By the time the race started, I was ready to focus on the task at hand. Embrace the Pace, as LT said in a text.
Goal was to stay relaxed for 30 minutes and then get to work. Splits were pretty consistent and I hit the tangents when possible. Watched measured 13.2 so it's a legit time (230' of climb). I gu'd at 7 and 11.5

1) 6'29"
2) 6'27"
3) 6'29"
4) 6'23"
5) 6'22"
6) 6'25"
7) 6'23"
8) 6'35" (no explanation - flat. Just was struggling a bit mentally)
9) 6'33" (another rough mile, but by this time I had made the turn on AP)
10) 6'22" (whatever was going on was over and I was in attack mode again).
11) 6'19"
12) 6'26"
13) 6'33" (mentally I was fatigued but I was trying to stay in the game and keep pressing).

This put me at a 54.42 v-dot. I am training in the right zones but I also need to get a little bump in the next 3/4 weeks.
Would have loved a lower 1:24 but I'm in the ballpark. Happy that I worked through that rough mental patch at 8&9.
First in my age group. 8th overall.
