Notes

So this was really not a great race. At all. I started out feeling really strong and good. For the first mile I was in about 10th place, which is probably as far up in a race as I've ever started, but as soon as I hit that first mile my legs turned into lead and I completely gave up mentally, letting 20 people pass me throughout the rest of the race. Even though I didn't stay particularly mentally strong, I'm really not sure my legs were capable of going much faster than they did. Not sure if it was just going too fast that made them seize up like they did, or the heat, or whatever, but in any case it was not how my legs should have felt only a mile into the race. I really don't feel like the pace I went out at was unreasonable for me, but I guess it just wasn't really my day. Looking forward to our first 6K at Sundodger after 2 more weeks of training.

Goals for the week:

Keep mileage a bit higher - should run about 40-43 next week

Be more consistent with ab, leg, and arm workouts

Keep hamstring (and the rest of my body) healthy

Try to find new, fun places to run!
