Notes

Very good weather - 60s and raining with a bit of wind. The goal was to run every mile between 6:00 and 6:05. It took focus but was fairly comfortable. Mile 9 is downhill and I went too fast. I did not push the last two miles but they ended up fast as well.

I carried a half liter of Gatorade and a hotshot. The Gatorade was gone by mile 7 (mile 15 overall). I never took the hotshot as I never felt cramps coming on. During the final mile of my warmdown, after 25 miles, I started to feel lightheaded, needing carbs/sugar. I definitely will be carrying a Gatorade bottle at Lakefront.

Before starting the pressure of my shoe on the inside of my left ankle caused some pain. I covered the spot with a bandage and a cotton ball and had no problems during the run. My toe bursitis was painful through about mile 5 of the workout. After that either the adrenaline or acetaminophen I took after the warmup kicked in and I didn't feel any pain.

Some things to remember for Lakefront:

1. Take midol, caffeine pill with a hotshot 15 minutes before the start.

2. Take midol, caffeine pill at the 9.5 mile mark of the race.

3. Tape a hotshot to the bottom of my Gatorade bottle.

4. Bring cotton balls and bandages to Slinger
