Notes

Well I swam a couple of 50yd laps with no fins today entirely freestyle.

I tried doing the drills in Going Long and can do those fine. I should be able to breath fine, based on that. Did those for about 40 mins, then moved to the lap pool. The problem basically is that if I swim and then try to breath while my arm is held out (rather than beginning my pull) then I struggle to find enough air. I Sink. But in the drills it's fine. The difference I suppose is having an arm out of the water.

In the lap pool I'm at least somewhat horizontal. And I can at least propel myself down the pool. My off arm is still supporting my breathing. Apart from the form problem, which probably indicates all sorts of problems I don't know about, my swimming feels good but pretty much tends towards anaerobic over a couple of lengths.

Not really sure where to go from here.
