Wow. Really faded a lot for this one, but I did better than I thought I would. Beautiful day for a run; I actually had to ditch my shirt for the last lap (it was a bit small, too -- hey, Brett, those medium Heart for Africa shirts shrank!)
I would like to have put three 7:04 miles together for this race, but it was not meant to be. I was pretty sure I was going to win the 50-59 age group, but I think they aged Fred Schmidt up for the occasion, and although we were close for the first mile, he ran a much more consistent race. I understood him to say that he was turning 50 sometime this week. Happy birthday, Fred!
Fred got the big jar of famous brand peanuts for his victory, and I was content with my smaller jar of store brand low salt peanuts.
I stayed around at the end to enter the times from the race into Lindas computer (note: for some reason, this combination of web site, browser and OS _is not letting me type apostrophes_. I will post the results as soon as I have entered the category placements (e.g., 2M 50-59) into the results.
