Notes

What a race. The beginning was nice, cool , shady, nice course, things where going well, clipping of KM's just a few minutes ahead of pace but not pushing super hard. Then around mile 13 I slowed a bit due to thinking the pace was to much to make it all the way to the end. We came over the bridge with about 8 miles to go and it went to hell. Full open road with no shade, direct sun at 87 degrees baking right in my face and I CRASHED. My stomach turned and I spent mile after mile feeling like was going to get sick and almost did a few times but managed to keep it in. Somewhere around here is where I began to run/jog, and than jog, walk, and than mostly walked with the slight occassional jog. It was brutal for me. It really was.

I don't think there was anything that could have been done to do better then better training on long runs in the heat but even that was not lacking to bad in my training. I did 20+ runs.

A new thing on this marathon that was nice was I used little plastic tubes that fit into my race belt to hold some skittles. The sugar and taste was nice along the course till my stomach turned and I was unable to handle them. They never came loose and felt fine on the belt, they will be used again for sure.

I wore a pair of black running shorts, standard length with my blue WC singlet, white running hat, glasses. Allycia's only complaint I blended in to much and she was unable to spot me.
