Notes
did my long run today b/c forecast for tomorrow wasn't looking so good (rain)...
plan was for 17m w/ 14m @ mp; this was the first time i've done a mp run outside...
used mcmillan mp as defined by 1/2 on 11-10, which showed marathon equivalent as 3:39:26 or 8:23mpm
this was the first time I ever set the alerts on the garmin for when I dropped below that pace...it made the whole run way more nerve wracking and way less enjoyable than usual :( tho i prob wouldn't have worked as hard w/out it...not really sure how accurate the stupid thing is...it beeped a lot, i'd look down and see i was doing 8:39 or so, other times I looked down and it was at 9:58 or over 10 (REALLY?) and not making a peep, am really surprised that there are so many splits down there less than 8 minutes...my hope was to do the first mile as a warmup, do race pace from 2-15 and then a cooldown the last two..of the middle ones I was targeting, I was off (slower) on three of them, by 14s, 24s, and 21s, that's probably more than made up for by the 7 miles that were under 8 minutes...I hadn't set the alerts to tell me wen i was going too fast, jesus, if I had the damn thing would've been beeping the whole outing! is gratifying that even w/ the 3 wu/cd miles, overall pace was 8:16, 6s below goal...it was pretty humid and not nearly as cool as I would've liked, plus i ran 12 yesterday, so i would give this effort an A-...need to try to be more even, maybe do more runs outside during the week even though i hate it...did wl/ds today, my usual golf course w/ hills, plus the new ones by cc, then regular ps + new lake marion loop..figured if race has hills, better be practicing race pace on hills! had 4 gummy bears each at ~6.5m and 12.5m, some swigs of the fruit punch advocare which seems to be too diluted, will have to add more powder before setting out w/ it again
