Ok. You know the drill. Score a point for more miles that the previous month.

I'll play this year. I will have an advantage in that I didn't run much at all in December and still haven't run in 2015 yet. I am going to ramp slowly so should be able to stay 'in' for a few months at least. Today I will run 3 or so miles for my first run of 2015 .. can't wait!

That's it? Only 5 signing up to play...Jeesh, out of the 141 members in this group, that's not a very good participation rate. I guess that means our chances of winning the beer is that much better.
Just a dude.
I'm on the fence on this one. There is some motivation to it, sure. But last year I found myself trying to keep upping my mileage as well as upping my intensity. I was going back and reading through my notes. It seemed like I was constantly worrying about this or that. My quad here. My knee there. Twice last year it got to the point were I had to take a week or more off to get things right.
Last year that worked ok for this competition. I reset my miles and inched back up until something else fell apart. I only lost 2 points. But those were almost wasted months recovering from problems.
So lets just say I am still mulling it over.

Getting back in shape... Just need it to be a skinnier shape...
Oh year. That's right. There is a beer for the victors. Thanks for the reminder Mike.
I know what you mean Kelly. I'm trying to use this as a consistency motivator. Trying to manage 200+ per month for the year so 201-213 would be ideal. Good luck.
That's how I'm looking at it too. Monthly mileage will be higher than others throughout the year depending on timing with races. If anything, it's a motivator for me to see the monthly numbers in a straight line. With doing a half ironman in June and then a trip to Yellowstone in August, constistently building mileage one month to the next is not going to happen. It'k OK knowing that going into Kelly.

Still not running much so I would be accused of sandbagging if I entered. Plus still have some nagging hip issues. Besides, participating in a stunt like this contradicts my goal of just being able to exercise on a regular basis.
That said good luck everyone.
Not at it at all.
I'll give it another go this year too.

January, 308.
I did not think I would be in position to join this with the trend I was on, but with my crappy final week due to illness I have room to grow.
