Can someone show a picture of a tuque? Because I also don't actually know what a stocking cap is....but I'm imagining what people put on under wigs....which is probably incorrect.

I started a blog about running :) Check it out if you care to
I could Google image it of course if I was that concerned.
You kids today probably know it as a beanie.

pom poms seem to be the current trend.. they are optional.
A tuque is the correct way to say a toque. You people make me angry.
Do they pronounce it with an O sound?
Oh. Never had another term for that picture other than "winter hat."
You're missing a neck warmer. I ordered 1 last year in a Running Room catalogue but they ran out so I became more intrigued to possess one. I finally found 1 in VT 2 months ago.

Lily, TO, new forecast. Wind is going down. It's getting cold, though. Yay.
Damaris
well that's a little better. Cold is no problem.

Yeah... I call that a "hat." Or maybe a "knit hat," if I want to get specific.

because i never shut up ... i blog
Yeah we always just called it a hat or winter hat.
Toque or tuque is a purely Canadian word for it. And elsewhere a toque is a chef's hat.

YES!! That's why it sounded familiar!
Also called a "toboggan" in states far enough south to not know what that word actually refers to.
These kids are on a toboggan, not wearing toboggans.
