It still surprises me: easy run right after a quality is a BITCH.
13 miles done , rainy cool weather so pace was up, but holy sheit I was tired.
What to eat, what to eat...
shredded wheat and coffee just not doing it. Maybe add some eggs and toast.

Ha! Agreed, that was me this morning. I always look forward to the easy runs because I think they will be, well, easier, but often they are not.

Well I am not hung up on anything and the overall picture is that one should expect a drop in easy pace when engaged in MRT specifically due to the increase in mileage regardless of the season. Unless of course that person trains for marathons year around then it would all be the same, save for the effect of weather which would then have an impact on easy and long run pace if it is one extreme or the other. As to how it all relates to me, my first, second and third miles take way longer to loosen up than they would during my 5 and 10k training season. At or about mile four or five however, I am indeed running closer to my "normal" easy pace. But as we know, easy is an effort not a pace, so with the increased volume of mileage and training the effort is not as easy as it would otherwise be.

This makes sense.
And funny I am remembering back in my early days when I was running 3 days/week - with each run I would go bounding out the door at a lively pace, I felt so strong & fresh. Now I go out creaking & shuffling like a 90-year-old man. Aren't I supposed to be getting better at this?
That's why none of my runs have had any sort of quality as I can only take easy ones... I will do few miles later as the heat has not been fun...have a great weekend everyone!

So, while we are bored out of our minds at the meeting, a friend sends this to me...
At least there is food. Sigh...
HAH!
at least it is Friday!

Heh...werd. And how often during the first mile of a run do you think "This sucks. I should have taken a rest day today"? And then you finally loosen up and have a great run.
<3
I LOL'd at this picture. Seriously, I hate those days.
5 miles later.
6 pints?! I don't know if I could lie down, let alone stand. The drinking age varies from province to province, but it is mostly 19. I think there are a couple where you can drink at 18.
If you're running more miles and more faster miles, yeah your easy pace could suffer. As long as your're still hitting your paces for your workouts, it's likely all good.
Time for some of that coffee.
I even know coworkers that are irritated as fuck BEFORE coming into work.
...and I have a massage scheduled with Tammy at 11:15. This will be my first time with T as my usual massage therapist Hilary is off today, hopefully she is any good.
