Go get it, Baboon! Got my tracker all set up with 13 runners so far, I’m sure I’m missing some. Getting ready to head our for something about 20 miles shorter than all of them will be doing today.

Thanks! I got 7 hours of sleep last night and pooped like a champion this morning. I've got no excuses!

Ah, the things we runners value...

5 slow, easy miles for me. I'm dragging despite getting a decent amount of sleep, but my itchy eyes assure me that I'm really just feeling spring allergies.
The sleep is impressive.
I've been curious about something for a while - whom is that a picture of in the top photo of the Home page of this group?

Do people get any sleep on such an early bus ride, or is everyone too keyed up for the race? The two times I took an early bus from Giants stadium to the NYCM start, I'm pretty sure everyone was wide awake.
In the NYCM FB group I joined, people are always asking about the various transportation options. Someone recommended the bus because it was super easy and he just took a nap. How in the hell. Incidentally I joined that group during the registration period, when people were talking about what it would take to get in. I should leave the group because it's kind of a waste now. It's now all people asking over and over again: (1) how to still get in with a charity; (2) what are the best hotel options; (3) what's the best transportation option; (4) "I got in but I've never run a marathon before, how do I train?"
Are we there, yet?
Still very early but Baboon is on a 3:07 pace.
Among US elite women Sara Hall and Emma Bates are among the lead pack, Des Linden is running her own race and has cl0sed the gap from 42 seconds to rejoin the lead pack.

The early parts of a marathon can be the best. Everyone is still full of hope.
LOL, Boston even more so.

Added a few.
I did in fact run 20.2 fewer miles than all of them will this morning.
Baboon through 10k on pace for 3:08!
Nice! It's fun watching his icon run on my screen.
What happened to Emma Bates? In one mile she went from leading the pack to being 20 behind the pack.
