The seams on the smartwool socks drive me crazy and blister my toes. I do like them for everyday wear. I love my Feetures socks for running.
Oh! I love Feetures! socks! I used to wear Smartwool for years, then I noticed they were making them shorter. I like the quarter crew length, and I like it to go above my ankles. The Smartwool's don't anymore, but the Feetures! do. And they fit my feet fantastically. Don't know they're on once they're on.
Skirt Runner
Just ran in my new first pair of Smartwool socks for the first time. Didn't unravel! Phew!

I started a blog about running :) Check it out if you care to
I wonder what is up with Smartwool? Did they offshore production? I have a lot of hiking and work socks plus liners that are over 10 years old and going strong. These have been awesome socks.
Unfortunately, my smartwool running gloves are chain stitched along the finger, and one finger popped a thread and the finger seam unraveled. Now I probably shouldn't wave with my right hand. Unless I mean it, that is.
I'm taking them back to REI as soon as I get out there again. Have only had them since late November. Figured they would last like the socks have.
Smaller By The Day
Just an update...I still don't have the socks that I paid for in November, and returned the same week they arrived. I know they said they would ship yesterday, but they're only 3-4 hours from my house.

I just got my socks back. I learned from the first pair to turn them inside out before putting them on. Sure enough, there were loose threads everywhere. Some of the loose threads had been stitched into other seems, which is what cause the last pair to come apart. I know it's not part of the design because it wasn't consistent from one sock to the other. The quality control at SmartWool just isn't that great. I'm not sending these back again. I'm just not going to buy them any more. I trimmed the loose threads, and we'll hope for the best.
