Oh my gosh, HsM, glad you're OK!
Oh wow! Sorry you were so sick, and right during Thanksgiving time.
Hi Penguins!! Sorry I've been MIA, but the health issues I'd been having kind of blew up in my face last week.
URD for me. Holiday work party. I'll pick it up tomorrow. My strength training yesterday made me a little sore even! Too bad I can't work that out with a few miles...
Scotty, loved the pic of you in the other thread, and congrats on 3 5Ks. My NFL day was great--awesome Vikings game.
Bin, I'm amazed you went on an outing on those legs! Must be feeling pretty good.

Rest day for me today.
Now, Scotty, this about made some grown men cry like babies. I told my DH, that my cold, hard heart almost melted a little bit hearing him and his brothers fuss and holler at this outrage. Anyway, glad you weren't fussing about it! Enjoy your rest; you sure earned it after all these races this weekend.
Gus-- so cool about the VIP suite! And congratulations on such a good run week (we'll chose to forget that craptastic run.) Great miles!
Awood-- glad you made it home safely after such a long trip and all those miles on the road.
Bin-- congratulations on your first marathon and on doing it so well! Glad it was a good experience for you, and look forward to your RR.
Docket--- Oh, I have not yet read your RR. I'll read up as soon as I finish here. Whew at not being flooded (yet.) Hope you and DH are both feeling good today.
Hi mommy Stone! Isn't that the truth about being multipotent! Hope you're having a warm Monday.
Dan--- good luck with your miles!
Zelanie-- Hopefully your work won't be nearly as busy as you're expecting. Hey, we can always hope.
Mitch-- oh my that's a tough work week. Good for you for not giving up even with your work schedule the way it is. From yesterday-- my friend was 22 when her brother was born. Age won't be a factor in the guardianship-- though other issues might rise. As far as pacing for my marathon, I'm neither as fast or athletic as many people on here. I'm always just really happy to finish. I'm looking at my training and things, and I'm thinking I should finish about 4:28-35ish, but come race day, I'm going to try to disregard that, and run by feel.
HsM-- wow! I remembered you'd not been feeling well, but i sure wouldn't have guessed it went that much downhill! Glad you're doing better and got to spend Thanksgiving at home.
Obie-- enjoy the holiday work party and dont' even worry about the running! Hope the soreness passes.
I took an URD yesterday, and was feeling blah. So DH and I decided to have a nice lunch out, and go to a few wineries. It made for a decent day, but by the evening, I noticed my left foot was aching a lot in the area right behind the middle toe. I"m hoping it'll be nothing, but as I want to be extra conservative this week, I'm going to take today off of running also.

Hey folks, I put a thread out on the B&B board and the main RA board under racing about my marathon. Damaris, thanks for your input, I value it whole heartedly. I think 4:25 will be the best choice for this first one. Every month you say?
Oh, I just signed up for a Sept half in the Smoky Mountains. Here are the links

4:25 I think is a slammed dunk. I think with good pacing, you might be able to do 4:15. Maybe 4:20-4:25 but if you feel good after Mile 18, go faster? It is sometimes hard to predict first marathons. Sorry.
Damaris
What do you mean "every month"?

Nice score on the concert tickets, Gustav! Congrats on getting your 50 miles for the week.
Can't say as I am very Multipotent. Well, Jerry, these days they have pills for that for guys our age... Congrats on your 10 miles!
Welcome back, Awood! Umm, were you gone?
It rained on Leggo Land, Bin? You couldn't make a leggo umbrella?
Sorry about your deluge, Damaris. Stay safe! We are the exact opposite now, Damaris. SUNNY San Antonio today. 75 degrees for a high.....78 for tomorrow...81 on Wednesday...80 on Thursday...and then we get another 'arctic blast' right in time for the weekend, high of only 52 on Saturday and 42 on Sunday. Stupid back-and-forth weather...Mother Nature obviously hates Texas....
Enjoy the massage, Jack! Festivus? Wasn't that the character in Gunsmoke?
Have fun with the new Garmin, Stone Fence.
Good luck with the miles, Dan. Get ready for the next cold arctic blast heading our way Friday, Sat, Sun.
I feel for you, Zelanie, that's what I have too this week, a busy work-week! Boo!
Dang, HsM, scary! Glad you are feeling better now! What the heck type of anti-inflammatory did they give you? That is a pretty intense reaction for an anti-inflammatory to cause. Were you taking anything else that might have interacted with it? Anyway, glad you are feeling better. Take care of yourself!
Enjoy the rest day, obiebyke. Good luck with your miles tomorrow, and hope you have no residual soreness from the weights when you run tomorrow.
I noticed my left foot was aching a lot in the area right behind the middle toe. Top of the foot, or bottom, Cherie? Hopefully it is something very minor and will resolve soon. If it does not, and the feeling is on the bottom of your foot, you might get checked for Morton's Neuroma. Good luck with your training, Mitch!

Don't worry. We will be in the mid 80s soon, all the way through forever.
Sloooow.
Scotty, love the pic that you posted on the other thread! Enjoy your rest day.
Gustav, sorry about the crappy run! Congrats on your 50 week though, that is amazing.
Jerry, have a great short run
Hi Awood!
Bin, Lego Land sounds like a bunch of fun. Are you recovering well from your marathon?
Docket, enjoy your rest day. Wanted to ask you some questions about DH's half training, I need help! Your race report where you mentioned the people running in tights in WARM! weather, cracked me up. At the 40F 5K I did, I passed someone running in a parka and fur boots. Thank God I passed her.
Jack, enjoy your rest day and the massage.
Dan, hope the few miles goes well. Sorry to hear about all the trouble you've been
Zelanie, hope you had a great rest week.
Mitch, I lose track of time, your marathon is close now right? That is not a fun work schedule you have coming up.
Hope, what a miserable week Hopefully you will be on the mend now that you've figured out what the problem was.
Okie, nothing wrong with an URD. Hope your muscles feel better and enjoy the work party!
Cherie, sorry you are feeling blah. You've had a lot going on these last few weeks. Sounds like a lovely lunch with your husband.
Nothing to report really. Keep considering DNS'ing the half, but I know I will regret it out of the first trimester when the morning sickness backs off.
Haha. Parka AND boots?
Well, hubby's training has been a mess. He started doing a run/walk training plan to get him to run continuously for 30 minutes. Then, he got shin splints. He couldn't run for 3 months. When he got back to running, again, shin splints. He found a brace that would work for him and started doing 3 runs a week and upping his LR. Since 3 runs would make him have shin splints almost daily, he lowered it to a run, 2 days off, a run, 2 days off, etc. Most of the weeks had only one 4-5 miler and his long run, so he was doing 50% of his run via the long run. Finally, the week before the race, he was able to start the 3 runs per week part. I wouldn't recommend anyone to do this plan, but he was adamant about finishing.
He runs 1 mile and walks for 0.10, repeat until the end. Longest run was 10 miles, 11.15 with walk breaks. This might work for you. Most of his training miles were at 13:30-15mm and yet he raced at 12:10mm average yesterday. Slow running and endurance do help. Good luck!

That kind of messy training seems right up my alley. I only want to finish, I've been considering a 1 mile run/ 1/2 mile walk schedule for the actual "race". He did excellent beating his expectations! I'll only be 16 weeks pregnant on race day, but it's this blasted all day sickness that will probably last until 12-13 weeks.

Scott - I can't stand A&M either. They committed treason by leaving the conference. I am looking forward to the colder weather as long as it doesn't ice up.
Gustuv - Glad that Sunday's run went well.
Jerry - Enjoy the recovery run.
Awood - Don't work too hard.
Bin - Congrats on your race yesterday.
Damaris - Enjoy your rest day. I didn't realize you ever rested.

Zelanie - Work hard and long this week. No time for running.
Mitch - That is a long work week, but I guess it is job security.
HM - I hope you feel better soon.
Obiebyke - I hoe the soreness goes away soon.
Cherie - I hope you feel better soon.

Hey everyone. I did 3 miles on the dreadmill at the gym. I also did some strength stuff. I have no clue what Im doing though. Do any of you have a ssample weight lifting schedule ? I looked for one online but didn't see anything. I basically want to do weights/ machines 3x a week. I don't want to alternate arms or legs just wanna do whole body a few times a week. And What order do I go in? I can't afford a personal trainer as they are 50-75$ per hour.
