WEEKLY RUNNING & X-TRAINING GROUP w/e 08/07 (Read 367 times)

I discovered I scream the same way whether I'm about to be devoured by a great white shark or if a piece of seaweed touches my foot.

    Have a great week ~

Thanks, Leslie! When can you start running a little bit?

This is sort of a taper week. Otherwise known as a cutback week. I'm not sure there's a difference, really.

Monday: 1.2 mile walk, 2.5 miles elliptical, 20+ minutes U/B weights

Tuesday: 6 mile easy run, .25 mile walk

Wednesday: 7.5 mile hilly trail run, .3 mile walk

Thursday: 5.2 easy miles at lunch

Friday: 4.1 miles run with some striders, .4 mile walk

Saturday: Santa Claus Half Marathon, 1:40:11 and 1st in AG. Yay! Warm up and cool down makes 14.2 miles for the day

Sunday: 11.2 miles run with some tempo miles in there, .5 mile walked

Totals: 48.4 miles run, 2.7 miles walked, 2.5 miles elliptical and 1 x U/B weights

Erika - I've told myself I won't run until I've gone an entire week without any foot pain, and so far that hasn't happened.  Everything I've read indicates it takes 6-8 months for this type of soft tissue injury to heal, and it's only been four months.  Feels longer.  I'm really, really hoping I can start running again come September, but we'll see.

In the meantime, I've been finding it hard to stay motivated lately, and as such, I have no idea what I'm doing this week.  I may start doing my The Firm DVDs again and improvise anytime they want you to jump around in any fashion.

11 miles walk / run combo with more running than walking....I would say that's a GREAT week Leslie Smile

Running has given me the courage to start, the determination to keep trying, and the childlike spirit to have fun along the way - Run often and run long, but never outrun your Joy of running!

My mistake, Tim.  Should've read "more miles walking than running . . . ." Blush
