    Mornin' everyone!

Great racing yesterday by Deeze and WildChild! Congrats to you both on enjoying your races despite their challenges.

Congrats to Mariposai on a very well-earned and deserved award from Omak!

Thanks for the 'refurbishing' tip, Holly - I'll look into that. Sure could save a bundle vs. a new Garmin.

SRD, as usual for me this morning. I think I worked harder than I thought on yesterday's longish workout, and was feeling it for the rest of the day. So it is good to use today as a recovery and regroup day. I have evening meetings Monday thru Thursaday this week, so it's a good thing I get to see DW at breakfast! Neither of us are happy about not having our evenings together but, fortunately, most weeks are not this booked.

    Have a greta Monday!

Hi Jay and all to come.

Sounds like a good idea to rest Jay. That was a good workout yesterday.

Way to go Wild and Deez.

I just stepped on the scale for the first time in a while. Oh boy. Time to start doubling and paying attention to what I eat as opposed to just watching myself eat.

3.1 to wake 'em up this morning.

      Cheers.

        5.6 just fartleking around.

Shorts weather...even wore shorts for the bike commute this morning.

I feel your pain C-R. I can do very good throughout the day but my home snacking and over eating is out of control.

I need to back and look at Deez's and Carolyn's race posts.

My run on Saturday was a really good.  First time I've completely enjoyed a run in quite awhile.  It was nice.

This morning it was 45 min of The Firm - Tough Tape 2.  I managed to get through the entire 45 min, but my arms are t-i-r-e-d.  I'm keeping it in the workout rotation for awhile.  It's good cardio/ST, and then I add my own core at the end.

Speaking of eating, this week at work is the Week of Gluttony.  Ugh!  I made a veggie/sausage stew for lunch that's warming in the crockpot, and Shorty made two loaves of banana bread.  Jan. 1 can't get here fast enough.  No more parties and goodies!!

Last day in NY, we leave tonight. Ran 5.3 miles on the hotel treadmill with 5 x .2 mile @ 8 m/m pace, the rest was 8:50 to 8:34. Even with a fan and relatively cool room, I still overheated and went through more than a bottle of water. Now to check out and wander around Midtown until our ride to the airport. It's gonna be a long day, home at 2:15 AK time tomorrow morning (6:15 a.m. EST).

I might need to consider that refurbishing of the 305. It does everything I want, it's just not that reliable anymore and there are no online updates for it.

Deez did have an awesome race this weekend, and sounds like Carolyn made it through another 50k. Keep on keeping on!

deez and wild, nice racing.  mari, congrats on your award and the ride in the parade.

Nice long runs/walks for Jay, Slo, Holly, Mike (accompanied by Eric on bike), and rasmussenmp.  Good job on the speedwork for evan.

This morning, it was in the mid 40s and there was a light breeze.  I got in 6 miles at an 11:20 pace.

A good day and good runs for all.

Good for Deez and Wild, tough runners those two.

And good to hear the people recognize our favorite butterfly up in Omak.

I'm MIA the past few days.  Ran the MetroPCS Dallas Half Marathon yesterday, pacing the Saint. This is only the second time I have done this and in both instances she ran well.  It was  a 2:11 for her and 29th of 191 in her AG.  And she's getting better.  proud of her.

This morning was a 2 mile slow jog with her and Lucy von Sheltie, easy morning.

We had horrible weather for the race, in the 60's with drizzle, high humidity and slick roads, but the course was good and we had fun.  Spareribs

                  Good Monday Morning!

I went out for a run on Saturday with David's saturday morning group. He ran almost 8 miles, avg 7:45 pace, I ran 4.8, avg 10:00 pace. lol.   Then he had this XC Christmas party at our house that afternoon. 10 kids showed up, which was a good size group to have in our house. They had fun, I prepared way too much food, and the sun broke out in the afternoon and some kids rode the go-karts, while a few others got a game of flag football going. Such a great group of kids and I'd welcome them all over anytime.

Last week of school before 2 wk Christmas break. I'm working just a few days here and there while he's off work, but for the most part will be home. Hope to get in some more consistent running these last couple wks of the year so I'm not dying when David starts coaching me the 1st of the year. . .

I'd give a lot for that horrible weather about now....

5.2 miles for me this morning in 35 degrees - the warmest day of the forecast, it just goes downhill from here (the temperature, I mean)....

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

                      Hi, all -

Thanks for asking dear Butterfly, my foot hurts less, but I am nowhere near taking it back onto a running trail.

I spent 10' on the treadmill and then went and did core and stretching for a while - seemed to be a good thing to do just to feel it out a  little.  I'll see the physio tomorrow.

How do you know the newcomer to town is an endurance geek?

I'll join the chorus of praise for Carolyn and Denise- they conquer the hills and the roads.

A beautiful day here- sunny and low 40's. Ran the local reservoir and did my weekly yoga. Celebrating Hannukah tomorrow night and a surprise  87th birthday party for a friend. On Friday we're off to northern Florida for a week of warmth and a 5K on Saturday a.m.

I just returned from attending my DW's niece's wedding out in San Diego.  Sigh, I am going to miss the 60+ degree weather.  Returning to reality I went out for 8 miles in mid 30 degree weather.

In news only tangentially related to running, my finisher's medal from the Reach the Beach Relay finally arrived.  (They gave out medals from the wrong race at the finish and these were sent to make up for that.)  I tell you this is the biggest medal I have by far.  Is there like some contest among RDs to produce gargantuan medals?  What is the point?  Yes, I do not want one the size of a nickle.  But big enough to anchor a boat?

Baked xmas cookies all morning with my DD, and then headed outside for a quick 3 mile run.  sunny, 54* which is unusually warm for my 'hood.

                              Hello everybody!

Twocat--I am with you 100% on how ridiculous the size of medals are getting.  I remember getting my medal from the Dallas White Rock Marathon and thinking it was big...that doesn't even compare in size to some of the more recent ones I've gotten.

                              Anyway...I did 10 miles, tonight in 1:15:26

Okay--that's it--gotta go rustle up some vittles.

                              Mariposai

Twocat, I thought the same thing when I received my Relay medal.

Tselbs, nice 6 miler this morning. Nice warm weather too.

3 miles for me today plus some gym diva core workout. I was able to hold a plunk for 2.30 tonight, moving closer to my 3' plunk goal for the end of the year.

                                Stay warm folks.
