Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
No rest for the weary, no sitting back saying I just ran my "A" race.

Thanks Holly!

Second week of 3-week taper. Serious cut-back now.
Be safe. Be kind.
I may need a pass for this week. I'm running a 5K on Saturday and plan to take it easy for the couple of days prior. Not sure I'll get in a long run this week either.
Monday - 6 miles easy (done)
Tuesday - 9 miles med long (done)
Wednesday - 5 miles easy (done)
Thursday - off
Friday - 3 miles easy (wound up doing 4 miles, half into a 30mph wind)
Saturday - 5K race (hope to get in around 9 or so with warmup and cool down) (done, but ran the 5K as a tempo due to wind conditions)
Sunday - 7-9 depending (8 recovery miles)

I know it's so late in the week already, but I guess I really didn't believe I could hit 40 until I actually did, even though that's what was on my plan this week. So if you'll have me back, I'd like to rejoin the fun. Thanks Holly for keeping this thread going (and waiting for me!).

OrangeMat - always glad to have you here!

The last 3 weeks, I fell back to an old pair of shoes with over 800 miles on them. And my foot has been feeling much better. I've always ran in the same 2 models of Asics. But the latest update of my favorite model I believe is causing my foot pain and PF. I fail to understand why Asics has to keep changing the basic fit of its models.
Anyhow, I did manage 40 miles this week. And I will try to make another run at it this week as well.
Philippians 4:13.

44 miles for me this week, including a 15.3 miler, which is the longest that I have managed since coming back from injury.
Thanks.
Not at it at all.
Thanks Holly.
No Monkey for me this year though I did register. I just did not have time to drive over for it this year. Maybe next year.
