Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week’s tally. I'm going to start working harder to get this done by Wednesday - thanks for being so patient with my tardiness.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Going to ease back into the HM Training. Trying to avoid the same dehydration related cramping that has derailed me in the past. Now that I can see a pattern I hope to be smarter about staying fit AND healthy.
Plan yet to be determined.

The pain that hurts the worse is the imagined pain. One of the most difficult arts of racing is learning to ignore the imagined pain and just live with the present pain (which is always bearable.) - Jeff

The left Achilles is a bit sore, so I will probably back off the mileage again this week to let that settle down. But if it goes away quickly then I'll push the mileage a bit..

Thanks, Holly.

A sherpa is the person that carries everything for the triathletes and makes sure they are where they need to be and have what they need.

Only 28 miles and some change for me Holly. I feel like I should be wearing the "cone of shame".

A good week overall...wonderful weather as we've started easing into fall, but there's always a tradeoff --- all weekday runs are now in the dark.
Best long run of the year by far. Just log miles on tired legs from yesterday's effort.
Total for the week comes at 59.8.
