Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...
Here’s what I have for last week's tally. Hope I didn't miss anyone...

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Thanks Holly and welcome back.
Here is my plan for the upcoming week, although things could change a little and I'm not too sure which day I'll get my speedwork in during the week.

Thanks Holly. I tried hard to make 40 last week but didn't quite get there. This week I'll post my plan and update until Thursday when I go offline for Ragnar. [soapbox mode] I know most of my teammates have iPhones, etc. and are online everywhere all the time, but I enjoy getting away from the web when I travel. Face time, not Facebook as I often say. [stepping off soapbox] Yes, it's true I'm getting a little grumpy as I approach the half century mark.

Thanks Holly,
Really no running plan for this week. Fly across country to Springfield, Mass Thursday night to attend my 35th High School Reunion. (should be fun). Start my 12 week running schedule next Monday. Head back home on Tuesday. Head to San Diego for 8 days on Wednesday. Do frequent flyer miles count??
I do hope to get around 50 miles this week but, no structure to it.

Just popping in to say hi to Holly and everyone else... reached 29 miles this week rather effortlessly, so I figure I'll be back in this thread in no time.
Also, happy Father's Day to all the dads!

42 miles. Typical week.

Checking in for last week...ending on Father's day.
Total for the week comes in at 54.4, just about right on target for an early summer week with focus on 1/2 marathon workouts.
Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

I managed 47.4 for the week.
Thanks Holly.
