Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
I'm not very good at math, but I have a plan that I think will require me to make it in this thread the rest of the year. My mileage has been declining the last few years. I hope to make 1,500 this year so as of today, I need 160.6. Here goes!
Monday..........plyo class with a few miles warm up & cool down.....done-3.7 mi. & added goal widget to my log here
Tuesday............double for about 8 miles...................................mostly done-6.5
Wednesday.........3.4 mile loop with the group......................................done-3.4
Thursday..............double for about 8 miles.............................................done-7.8
Friday....................3......................................................................................done-3.1
Saturday...............10+ with the group.......................................................done-10.3-very intense trail run
Sunday.................Whatever's left to get to 40! Maybe 5.......................done-5.2 + weights at the gym
Total................................................................................................................done-40

Minor surgery, HermosaBoy? Are you okay?
Yeah, just had to have another of my thousands of freckles/moles removed. Biopsy is back, all is good...

Made it. 40.2 miles.
Philippians 4:13.
I had a strange week of 4 days on treadmill, followed by
a trail ultra. I did the full "50K" distance, but my watch
only measured 27 miles. Others got 28.5 miles.
Race director said it's because of the switchbacks.
The weather was great, but leaf covered rocks
and roots on single track trails turned out to
be a bit too much for me, as a road/treadmill runner.
I fell three times, and that's with walking all of the more
dangerous downhill sections. To add insult to injury,
girls racing in the 10K were flying down those trails,
not afraid of any of those roots or rocks, like it's
nothing.
Mon 8 mi (1:08) treadmill
Tue 10 mi (1:22) treadmill
Wed 9 mi (1:16) treadmill
Thu 7 mi (0:58) treadmill, plus 55 min on stair stepper
Fri 0
Sat 27.3 mi (5:37) NYC Trail Festival 50K
Sun 0
Total: 61 miles ( 10 hrs 21 min)
Wow--nice job Alexander!
