Marathon Maniac #957
For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."
Holly, is this supposed to be for the week ending October 30th? Thanks for you work on this thread!
LOL! Okay, taking Tramps' lead I will assume it's for this week.
Monday - 6 easy (done)
Tuesday - 7 with 2 miles at 5K pace (done - two miles at 6:30; 6:45 with 2 min. rest)
Wednesday - 3 easy miles, weights (done0
Thursday - 9 med long (done)
Friday - 5 easy (done)
Saturday - 13 long (a struggle, but done)
Sunday - 3 recovery (lucky to get this in)
Total: 46 (yes!)
Once a runner . . .
As usual, Holly's way ahead of us.
(I'll assume this is the week ending the 30th)
First week of 3-week taper; lots of EZ miles.
Be safe. Be kind.
Thanks Holly
Let's see if I can string 3 together while traveling most of the week.

Thanks Holly! I really appreciate the time you take to keep this thread going.
As for me, it is time to ramp up the miles just a little bit. Aiming at 45 this week.
AM: yoga
PM:4 easy

Last call for a tuneup race! I've only run a 15k race once before, in '08, this race coming up Saturday. At one point, I ran a different one in Wichita Falls, TX, where I saw a dead body and missed the turn, so I ran 10 miles and still got an AG award. Anyway, like I was saying, because I'm racing I will reduce my mileage this week and it's time for that. I will be tinkering with shoes, racing again in the Green Silence, and trying to find the right shoe for the marathon ASAP.
