Marathon Maniac #957

For those of you who are new, this is the 40/40 thread, for people who are over 40 years old who run 40 miles/week or more. We give Free Passes to those who come really close or try really hard...

Here’s a what I have for last week's tally.  SORRY I TOOK SO LONG.  Just so busy right now...sigh...

Here’s my tentative plan for the week.  First day at a new job, leaving 30 minutes earlier and working an hour later, so I'll play it by ear with the running.  No need to add more stress than I already have.

Life is a headlong rush into the unknown. We can hunker down and hope nothing hits us or we can stand tall, lean into the wind and say, "Bring it on, darlin', and don't be stingy with the jalapenos."

Thanks, again, Holly.  I know you've got a lot of other things going on right now, so I appreciate you keeping this thread going.

I can't believe it's time to taper already.  I was really enjoying my runs.  I'm not sure when I'll be back up to 40 mile weeks, so please bear with me.

Monday 10 11.1  Borrowing Mike's commentary, verbatim-legs just felt heaver, tonight--no juice in them at all
Tuesday 14  3.5  Nothing. That felt like marathon miles 27, 28 and 29. Ugh.
Wednesday 10  3.6 Ad hoc progression instead. Try some 400/200's to sharpen up for Sunday
Thursday 13  14.3  Split half and half by 90 minutes of errands. Not too bad actually. Easy
        Friday 10    Easy
        Saturday 6-7    Taper, Easy
        Sunday 17    Race possible, HM
        Total 80

Thanks Holly, legas are feeling much better now so I guess it's time to work towards that sub 20 5K goal, we'll see how things shape out over the next few weeks.  I think I should be able to tell if it's even possible after I run a 3 miler on June 10th, that should at least give me an idea of where I am and what I need to concentrate on.

Thanks, Holly.  You're smart to ease into the new job routine. Running can go on the back burner for awhile.

My work life is back to normal after a few big weeks, so I'm back on track here.  It's my last week of lollygagging before I start a Pfitz cycle (my first).  Should be fun.  H&H is sucking the life out of me, though.

That adds up to something like 50.5 for the week.  They'll run that trail race again next year...so no worries about that.

Acceptable at a dance, invaluable in a shipwreck.

Ooops.  Forgot to post.  Better late than never I suppose.

45.4 miles for me last week.
