Are we there, yet?
I've been staying on the roads since that first foray onto the trails. Besides being a 20-25 minute drive to get to any trails, my calves have been very tight and a little sore. I will definitely be back on the trails, hopefully on some easier ones this weekend. If Towpath (running the 10K if it's a go) is cancelled because of the federal shutdown, there's always the Metropark system for running trails.
QOTD - I've been in all three at one time or another. Now it depends more on the race distance, more likely MOP for 5K and moving toward BOP as the distance increases.
2024 Races:
03/09 - Livingston Oval Ultra 6-Hour, 22.88 miles
05/11 - D3 50K 05/25 - What the Duck 12-Hour
06/17 - 6 Days in the Dome 12-Hour.
Jog with my youngest to school, then back home, so 2 miles so far. Hopefully a decent hour long run later ....
QOTD: Wow, depends on the race distance and field. I have been fairly competitive in some 50ks, but am a mid-packer at best really

I am a sickie at the moment. Too bad, cause it's going to be a damn nice week to bike to work. I may just do it anyway because my days are limited here.
QOTD: Road races I tend to fall in the back of the middle. Ultras I tend to be in the back. I have yet to earn a coveted DFL, but I've come really, really close.
Running is dumb.
Le professeur de trail
Congratulations, Dd1. We will make a note that you are no longer an ultra virgin.
How did I miss this? DD I did not realize you were doing BC. Congrats. A bit hot and humid wasn't it? I get out there (to Blue Marsh Lake) on average 1-2x per month to run on my way home from meetings in the Reading area. I really like those trails.
Hope to hear details soon!
My favorite day of the week is RUNday
Sue
Just a little sore after my race...guess it's been a while since I used my fast twitch muscles. I walked the dog this morning and not running today although I could.
QOTD: I'm a MOP but usually a pretty strong MOP. Maybe if I did that speed work you people talk about I could move up to bottom of MOP.
Couch: Awesome job this weekend!!!
Dig Dug: Congratualtions. Did you enjoy it?
Northern: Glad you throughly enjoyed your race.....YOUR BACK!
Watoni: That's cool that your kid got in a 1 mile before school!
05/13/23 Traverse City Trail Festival 25K
08/19/23 Marquette 50 dns 🙄
Queen -- we can ride/walk/run to school from our place now, so that is great!!! It is like old times
Endless trails
That sounds like a personal problem.
Everything slows done with age Jon!!
My virgin ears!!!!
We're still talking about running, right? Ha ha.
SRD for me today. Some wierd weather in NYC today, but I was stuck in meetings all day.
qotd: I guess a solid MOP.
